Rabies Vaccinations & Licensing Changes
Beginning January 15, 2006, New York State is changing the
regulations regarding issuance of dog licenses.
No license may be issued for a period past the expiration
date of the rabies vaccination. If your dog is cue for
a rabies vaccination booster during the next year, you must
have it boostered NOW in order to have a full year license.
Check your present license
and your present vaccination slip from your vet.
Please see the Town Clerk is you have any questions or
concerns.
Change in Dog
Licensing Law Effective November 20, 2002
The mandatory age at which a dog must be licensed has been
changed to 4 months. Rabies vaccinations may be
administered at 3 months of age.
The $3.00 Animal Population
Control Fund surcharge will now apply to any and all dogs
over 4 months of age on purebred licenses.
A $5.00 surcharge will be
added to the fees for dogs identified as unlicensed during a
dog census.
